Katie Frate, BSN, RN, VA-BC
Katie Frate is a pediatric vascular access specialist and assistant nurse manager of the vascular access team at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida. A pediatric nurse for more than 15 years, she has focused on advancing pediatric vascular access practice since 2015.
Katie was recognized as St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital Team Member of the Year in 2021 and is an author of Standards of Care for Peripheral Intravenous Catheters: Evidence-Based Expert Consensus. She currently serves on the Executive Leadership Council of the Pediatric/Neonatal Special Interest Group (PediNeoSIG) within the Association for Vascular Access. Katie has also served on the executive board of her local AVA network and presented at national AVA conferences and international vascular access conferences.
