Martha Button, MSN, RN, VA-BC
Martha Button, MSN, RN, VA-BC, is a Vascular Access Team Charge Nurse at Legacy Health in Portland, Oregon. In her role, she supports vascular access needs across neonatal, pediatric, and adult patient populations. Her responsibilities include placing PIVs and PICCs, caring for central lines, troubleshooting vascular access challenges, and supporting clinicians with vascular access questions.
Martha has also been expanding her expertise in mid-thigh femoral-inserted central catheters (FICCs) and helping train additional staff on the technique. She has placed FICCs in patients ranging from newborns to 75-year-olds. As vascular access continues to evolve, Martha remains focused on learning new techniques, evaluating emerging approaches, and sharing knowledge with her colleagues to continually improve patient care.
