At the AVA 2023 Scientific Meeting during the Vascular Access Talk sessions, Michelle (Mickey) Hawes, RN, DNP, CRNI, VA-BC, ACRP-CP followed-up her 2022 securement presentation and dove into the latest peer-reviewed data on SecurAcath.
Affectionately referred to as the Clatterbridge Study, because it took place at the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in Liverpool, UK, it is the largest SecurAcath study to date examining 1.2 MILLION catheter days and over 9,000 patients.

Michelle (Mickey) Hawes, RN, DNP, CRNI, VA-BC, ACRP-CP
Nationally respected for her knowledge of infusion therapy and vascular access expertise, Mickey is an award-winning expert who has spoken at regional events and national conferences presented by the Infusion Nurses Society (INS), Association for Vascular Access (AVA), Association of Vascular and Interventional Radiographers (AVIR). She has been published in many professional journals and serves on the review boards for the Journal of Infusion Nursing, the Journal of the Association for Vascular Access, and the American Journal of Nursing.
Currently serving as President of the Association for Vascular Access Foundation board, over the years Mickey has served both INS and AVA in many different capacities. She holds a BS in Biology and Chemistry Education from the University of Iowa, a BSN from the University of North Alabama, an MSN from Indiana Wesleyan University, and DNP from the University of Southern Indiana.
After earning her DNP, Mickey began Data to Wisdom Research Consulting to assist healthcare professionals in moving piles of data through the research process to publication.
