About Jon Bell, RN, MSN, VA-BC
Jon began in medicine as a paramedic and then transitioned to emergency nursing. After a decade of emergency experience he became a perioperative nurse while continuing to practice emergency medicine. These two strands combined to give him an interest in emergency vascular access where he was able to use the sterile procedural techniques and vascular suite training in the ED to assist doctors in placing CVCs. He also learned to utilize ultrasound guidance for peripheral IVs.
Jon also is passionate about teaching and mentoring fellow nurses. He is a resource in his workplace and enjoys encouraging, coaching, shepherding, and cajoling colleagues in their path of professional advancement. Jon has an MSN from Grand Canyon University with a focus in Nursing Leadership. He serves as Treasurer on the 2022 Association for Vascular Access Board of Directors.
