Nancy Trick has been a passionate advocate for advancing vascular access care through clinical education, mentorship, and global leadership. Her extensive experience includes delivering educational presentations, contributing to peer-reviewed publications, and consulting with medical device manufacturers to improve care standards worldwide. A cornerstone of her contributions is her work on the Vessel Health and Preservation textbook, playing a pivotal role in both the first edition (2019) and second edition (2024), reflecting her commitment to clinical excellence and patient care.
Nancy’s leadership within the Association for Vascular Access (AVA) is equally impressive. She has served on key international committees, including the Nominations Committee, Policy Committee, and the Board Development Commission. Her dedication is further demonstrated through her role as chair of the INS Standards of Practice Committee in 2000 and as an item writer for the initial VACC exam. In recognition of her impact, Nancy was honored with the 2024 Suzanne LaVere Herbst Award for Excellence in Vascular Access. Through her global education efforts, innovative course development, and tireless work advancing the field of vascular access, Nancy continues to leave a lasting legacy for clinicians and patients alike.
